Local Customer Shares Family's Tractor Collection

David York from Shelby County takes great pride in sharing photographs and history behind his family's John Deere tractor collection, and rightfully so.  At last count, the number of utility and row-crop tractors (pictured in the "long" line-up) is 12, ranging from 22 - 210 horsepower, and spanning 70 years.  Many of the tractors have been restored, with the oldest being a 1944 Model B purchased by his father.  Not to be overlooked, David provided a second photo showcasing the family's John Deere lawn and garden equipment.

Summarized by David, "This shows how dependable and durable the John Deere line is to the York family in Russia, Ohio."  David is a customer of Koenig Equipment, and his brother Steve is the father-in-law of Anna branch employee Jeff Holthaus.  Koenig Equipment is pleased to share these photographs, and thanks David for sharing with us!

Farmers Prepare for Productive Harvest

In preparation of the upcoming harvest, over 50 local farmers visited Anna for the annual Combine Clinic hosted by Koenig Equipment.  Customers learned about corn and grain head adjustments, common wear points and more through presentations and hands-on demonstrations.  After Precision Ag Specialist Kurtis Shipp presented to the entire group, attendees separated into small groups and rotated to various stations led by Koenig's certified Service technicians.

Harvest Clinic Emphasizes Machine Optimization

Approximately 60 area farmers attended Urbana's Harvest Clinic on August 18, learning how to maximize their equipment investment through machine optimization. Representatives from John Deere, Unverferth Manufacturing and Horsch participated in the event presentations, along with Koenig Equipment's Sales, Parts and Service teams.  Additionally, Eric Bell from Bell insurance and Financials provided advice to farmers on proper coverage and liability issues.
Following the clinic, customers enjoyed lunch provided by Vic's Country Cooking. Thanks to all those who attended and a special thanks to all who assisted in making this year's event a success.

Sidney Police Department Expresses Appreciation

In appreciation of Koenig Equipment's support of Safety Town 2016, the Botkins branch has received an appreciation letter and photographs from the Sidney Police Department.  With Koenig's assistance, the department was able to purchase eight KetCars, four John Deere pedal tractors and four John Deere tricycles for the four sessions.

Safety Town 2016 demonstrated riding safety to over seventy young children, emphasizing the importance of wearing a helmet while riding.  Using the new fleet of vehicles, participants learned about obeying traffic signals and stop signs, along with correct hand-signals before turning.  As seen in the photographs, the youngsters enjoyed themselves and the new vehicles.

Koenig Equipment would like to thank the Sidney Police Department for this opportunity to support the Safety Town project and the community.

New AutoTrac™ Sprayer Guidance Systems

Navigating row-crop fields and guiding sprayers more accurately during postemergence applications is being enabled with new AutoTrac™ Vision and AutoTrac™ RowSense™ for John Deere sprayers.
Utilizing a single-lens camera to detect crop rows and help steer the sprayer down the center of the row, AutoTrac Vision is designed for early postemergence applications. For later season post applications, AutoTrac RowSense helps sprayers stay on track by using a row sensor to detect crop rows and steer to the center.
Both systems are available as field installed kits on currently operating machines or from the factory on new John Deere R4023, R4030, R4038 and R4045 Sprayers. A GS3 AutoTrac RowSense activation is required.
Call or visit your local Koenig Equipment branch for details.

StarFire™ 6000 Receiver Introduced

With the introduction of the StarFire 6000 receiver and SF3 signal, John Deere is achieving even higher levels of accuracy, repeatability and signal pull-in speed with satellite-based guidance.
Designed to give customers greater precision capabilities, accuracy and uptime, users can get RTK-like accuracy when operating in fields without an RTK network with the StarFire 6000 Receiver and SF3 signal combination.
Current StarFire 3000 and StarFire ITC customers can easily upgrade to the new StarFire 6000 Receiver and SF3 signal this year. Additionally, this latest technology can be factory installed on John Deere model year 2017 sprayers, combines and tractors.
